The Kremlin has expressed regret over restrictions imposed on Telegram, Russia's popular messaging platform, after the service failed to comply with local laws. Dmitry Peskov, President Vladimir Putin's press secretary, described the situation as unfortunate but emphasized that all companies must adhere to regulatory requirements.

Russian users began reporting service disruptions earlier this week, with over 11,000 complaints logged within 24 hours. The country's telecom watchdog, Roskomnadzor, confirmed it had initiated restrictions against Telegram. The platform's future in Russia remains uncertain following defiant statements from its founder, Pavel Durov.
